Real numbers, not vague promises
Here's roughly what solar PV does for a typical Irish home.
And yes — solar PV still generates on overcast Irish days. Just not at full output.
No roof space? Ground-mounted solar.
Not every home is right for roof panels — and that’s no problem. A ground-mounted system sits on a sturdy frame in your garden, field or yard instead of the roof, so you can still generate your own power when the roof isn’t the answer.
- Ideal when your roof is the wrong orientation, shaded, older, or listed and awkward to work with.
- A great fit if you’ve land or a yard to spare and want a larger system.
- Angled and positioned for the best possible sun — not limited by your roofline.
- The same tier-one panels and certified install as a rooftop system, designed around your site.
A bigger system like this doesn’t have to mean a big bill up front — you can spread the cost over a term that suits you.
See how you can spread the costUp to €1,800 SEAI grant — fully handled
